Candidates
The ideal candidate is passionate about their content area and about igniting a love of learning in all students! They are committed to learning and implementing best practices for teaching the students of Louisiana and our nation.
Support for Candidates
All Secondary Holmes MAT students are assigned an LSU mentor who is a veteran teacher in their subject area. The mentor visits their classroom, provides biweekly in-person support to a small group, and gives feedback to help candidates learn and grow. PL3 candidates also receive five hours of mentoring per week from a teacher in their school.
Professional Development Opportunities
LSU offers professional development on a range of issues to all education students every semester. Opportunities abound to learn from experts in content and pedagogy.
